Rough magnesium
Since magnesium weighs 1/4 of iron while having 6 times stronger intensity, it is considered as an eco-friendly material which can increase the fuel efficiency and reduce the discharge of carbon dioxide when the magnesium is used for the automobile instead of iron which takes 70% of weight of an automobile.
Especially, the use of magnesium will increase tremendously since many countries in the world are strengthening the fuel efficiency regulation. Number of companies using magnesium for the internal and external material of cellular phone and tablet PC as well as wheel, seat and dashboard of premium automobile since magnesium is lighter, cheaper and stronger than aluminum.
HYTC Central Research Laboratory
Our company invested about 5 billion KRW and prepared the production and research facility in Cheongju Factory in 2013 for the development of material and parts with magnesium by using the characteristics described above, and the full-scale research activity is being processed in central research laboratory in Cheongju and Jeonnam Suncheon Techno Park since 2013.
